The Club Team program is a performance-based recreational gymnastics program. The athletes in this program have the freedom to safely learn their favorite skills and then perform those skills in routines at fun meets held all over the lower mainland. Some away meets and other community performance opportunities may be offered throughout the season as well.
Club Team is a 10 month commitment: September-June, with optional summer training offered. Depending on age and ability the athletes will train anywhere from 3-9 hours per week.
Athletes are expected to attend at least 2 meets, plus Gymnaestrada as much of practice time is spent preparing individual and team routines. At meets, athletes perform in front of spectators while adjudicators observe their performances and give positive feedback. Awards and meets can differ at each location however, a certificate and award is given to all participating athletes. Special awards for outstanding performances and athlete gifts such as goody bags, T-shirt, etc may be given to participating athletes.
Club Team is known in BC as the Interclub “Performance” Category. (Performance Plus and Challenge are no longer available), instead BC has adopted the new Xcel Competitive program to bridge the gap between Interclub and the Junior Olympic Competitive Program.
