What is Interclub?
The PLAY Gymnastics BC Interclub program is designed to expand the scope of participation in recreational gymnastics in BC. Interclub provides a training framework and offers opportunities for athletes to attend sanctioned events, at which they perform gymnastics routines to showcase personal ability.
The Gymnastics BC Interclub program is specifically designed for recreational athletes and is not meant to be used as a developmental competitive or pre-competitive program.
Tryout for the team and join in the fun!!
Our Competitive Team athletes train between 4 - 16 hours per week and follow the USA Junior Olympic program. Our Competitive team is a year-round commitment.
What is the Junior Olympic Program?
The USA Junior Olympic program is based on 10 levels with GBC using levels 1 to 9. This level system provides great long-term benefits aimed at keeping athletes motivated with smoother transitions from level to level and improved progression within one level.
It was developed with the belief that all athletes, regardless of their potential, must have a solid foundation of basic skills in order to advance safely. The program allows the gymnast to advance at her own pace, competing in more than one level in a year, if she so chooses. (USAG)
The JO program is divided into three major
Learn the Basics: Levels 1 to 3
Compulsories: Level 4 and 5
Optional: Levels 6 to 9
